GLFSA offers three email subscription List Services (LISTSERVs) to members of the MSU community. Listservs are constructed so that sending an email to a group will reach all participants of the service.
You may subscribe to any or all of these lists following these instructions:
Using the email account to which you wish mail sent, send to "listserv@list.msu.edu"
Leave the subject line blank.
In the body of the message, type:
Subscribe Listserv Name Your Name
(for example, Subscribe Triang-l Val Meyers)
You will receive an email when your subscription has been accepted. Note: if you attempt to subscribe to TRIANG-L or GLFSA-L from an email account that is not provided by Michigan State University, your subscription will not be accepted. MSUPRIDE is an open list and all subscriptions will be accepted.
These are guidelines for the Triang-l discussion list:
1. The TRIANG-L Listserv is sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Faculty/Staff Association (GLFSA) and is provided as a forum for discussion and announcements regarding topics of interest to this community. The GLFSA Board of Directors is the final authority in deciding policy and rules of the TRIANG-L Listserv.
2. Subscriber names and Email addresses are to be kept confidential, as are the contents of messages. All discussions are to be considered "off the record" and may not be quoted by media representatives without express permission of the author. Messages may not be forwarded to anyone outside the list without express permission of the author. Message headers and signature files must be stripped from all forwarded messages unless the author expressly indicates that his or her name may be left in the message text.
3. Committees posting summaries of meetings are reminded to receive permission from GLFSA members before using their names in posted messages.
4. Any person with an MSU Electronic mail account may be subscribed to TRIANG-L. Persons requesting subscription from outside the University will not be subscribed except, at the list manager's discretion, those from alumni or former MSU faculty or staff.
5. Messages are not to be forwarded in or out as a means of circumventing subscriptions. Occasional posts from non-subscribers are acceptable providing the content is appropriate to discussion on TRIANG-L and does not violate guidelines.
6. Reposting from other lists is discouraged as a general practice. Occasional items of interest may be reposted. Rather than reposting multiple messages, subscribers are encouraged to summarize the content of these messages.
7. No advertising from commercial establishments is allowed.
8. No message should be posted to TRIANG-L which might harass, humiliate, embarrass or otherwise intimidate other subscriber(s).
9. Anyone who violates the rules set forth in MSU's Acceptable Use Policy or in TRIANG-L's guidelines is warned once. If the violation recurs, the subscriber is removed from the list.
10. The GLFSA board is the final arbiter in any dispute resulting from a subscriber's removal from the list.
Subscribers are cautioned that TRIANG-L is a semi-open list. Though only the list manager may see who is subscribed, anyone who posts to the list should be aware that his/her name and Email address is then distributed to all subscribers.
