Courses:

• Introduction to Microeconomics (EC201H) Tues, Wed, Thurs 9 am - 12 noon; 3 credits.
• Introduction to Psychology (PSY101H) Tues, Wed, Thurs 9:00 am - 12:40 pm, + additional hours through the Internet; 4 credits.
• Biotechnology (CSS491H) Tues, Wed, Thurs.: 9:00 am - 12 noon; 3 credits.
• Introduction to Philosophy (PHL200H) Tues, Wed, Thurs: 9 am - 12 noon; 3 credits.
• Introduction to Film (ENG230H) Tues, Wed, Thurs: 9 am - 12:40 pm; 4 credits.

Eligibility:

Up to twenty students will be enrolled in each course. To be eligible, a student must:

1. Have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 by June 13, 2008.
2. Have taken the SAT I Reasoning Test (SAT), or ACT Assessment Test between 2002 and 2008 and have proof (a copy of SAT or ACT scores). Minimum scores required for participation in High Achievers are one of the following:
• SAT Verbal 530 and Total 1040 OR
• PSAT V53 OR W53 and Total 106 OR
• ACT English 22 and ACT Composite 21 OR
• Plan scores of English 22 and Composite 21
3. Have earned at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in college prep classes. A copy of the student's transcript, including grades for the first semester of the 2007/2008 school year, must be included with the completed application.
4. Have a high degree of motivation and be willing to put forth the effort necessary for an honors-level college course.
5. Special Note: The High Achievers classes are honors sections of the courses, meaning an especially high level of work is expected. Additionally, up to five students for MSU's Honors College will be admitted to each class.

Costs and Transportation:

The cost of High Achievers is 378.75 per credit. The tuition for 3 credit course of $1136.25 or a 4 credit course of $1515.00, $60 application fee, and textbook costs. For details on the costs and due dates, see the brochure.

Transportation is the responsibility of student and parents. This program is a commuter program.
