Description:

  • CHAMP is a regional program for students highly gifted in mathematics.
  • Student selection is based on the College Board SAT I Reasoning Test scores, the age, and/or grade level at which these scores were achieved, the availability of appropriate alternative programs in the student's home school district, geographical considerations, previous school records and the algebra placement score.
  • This accelerated program allows students to complete the traditional four year high school mathematics program in two years.
  • CHAMP is available to students in Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, and Shiawassee Intermediate School Districts.
  • The program is funded by local and intermediate school districts, parents, the W.B. and Candace Thoman Foundation, the Dart Foundation and Michigan State University.
  • Students meet on Thursday afternoons each week for two and one-half hours on the Michigan State University campus.

Eligibility

A student must have an SAT score in Math equal to or greater than 530 and an SAT Total of 1010 or above.

OR
