We had an absolutely action-packed show, beginning with an in-studio
visit
from Ray Condo & His Ricochets, who were in town to do an in-store
appearance at Elderly Instruments. They were in fine form, despite
Ray
being struck with laryngitis. Regardless, they plowed through
a nice set
of instrumentals and Jimmy Roy, the steel player, took the lead vocals
on a
couple of numbers. We also had Fred Beldin, the bass player for
the
Clutters, in the studio to promote their upcoming T&T show with
Mike
Ireland & Holler this Friday. Fred brought in some mighty
fine vinyl that
he has acquired while working at one of the coolest record store in
the
Midwest, Car City Classics (near Detroit). The listeners also
scooped up
some Mike Ireland & Holler CDs and tickets.
