Tonight we paid tribute to Boozoo Chavis, who passed away on May 5th at the age of 70. Boozoo was one of the pioneers of Zydeco and he embodied so much of what is great about Americana/roots music - gritty, raw and intense, yet always sincere and direct.  Seeing Boozoo live was a truly riveting experience; he would run around the stage, shouting out and whipping his backing band into a furious tempo. He will be greatly missed, but we have his music to continue to remember him by.
