Playlist for April 27, 1999

We featured the fine new album "Songs from the Mountain" by Dirk Powell, Tim O'Brien
and John Hermann. This CD features traditional Appalachian folk music discussed in the
novel "Cold Mountain" by Charles Frazier. We also featured music from a slew of our other
favorite new releases, including Tom Waits, Mike Ness, The Blue Rags, and Doc & Richard
Watson. Finally, we played three songs from a demo CD released by A.J. Downing,
a local recording engineer/producer who enlisted Lansing's The Weepers to be
his backing band.
