Playlist for March 16, 2004

Tonight’s show involved several different special features:  an interview with Ruth Oxenberg, who is the director of “Bluegrass Journey,”
a documentary film that is playing at the East Lansing Film Fest on March 20. We also featured the upcoming CD from Steppin’ In It,
a local band who is becoming a national act (with upcoming appearances on the Woodsongs Radio Hour, Mountain Stage, and the
main stage of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival). Dominic Suchyta, the bass player from Steppin’ In It, stopped by and discussed the
making of the new album, which was recorded by Sally Van Meter and is slated for a May 2004 release. Dominic then stuck around
and he and I rolled out an all-vinyl set of honky-tonk, blues and western swing to round out the show. Vive le vinyl!
