Playlist for February 17, 2004

Tonight’s show focused on the Johnny Cash “Unearthed” box set, which is truly amazing.  There are five CDs in all, and they are divided
thematically into different discs based on both when they were recorded and also what sort of material is on the disc. The four CDs
of unreleased material are:  “Who’s Gonna Cry”, “Trouble in Mind”, “Redemption Songs” and “My Mother’s Hymn Book”. There is
a fifth CD that covers the best of the four previously released American Recordings albums. Additionally, there is some great news –
it was announced this past week that there will be a fifth volume of American Recordings released this year, featuring recording
that Cash made in the spring and summer of 2003. In addition to all the Cash material, we gave out tickets to April Verch’s show
at the Ark (February 19) and the Kingston Trio at the Kalamazoo State Theatre (February 21).
