Well friends, here they are: the T&T Top 45 of 2001, as voted on by
the listeners, staff and a panel of relevant folks (such as former hosts,
etc).  This year the listener input was increased by the incentives of a
huge giveway - all listeners had to do was submit their personal top 10 of
the year and we would tabulate it and enter them in a drawing for a
truckload of swag, with numerous runner-up prizes.  We had a very good
response and it was great to receive the direct feedback on what folks
liked the most.  Ole '01 proved to be a stellar year music-wise, and our
resounding favorite was Scott Miller's new CD - no suprise there... (how
could you not *love* a twang CD that includes a cover of the Chocolate
Watch Band's "(I Ain't No) Miracle Worker"?!?), but it was a very tight
race between Scott Miller, Paul Burch, Gillian & Alejandro.  Thanks very
much to our friends at Sugar Hill, Lost Highway, Rounder, Hightone,
Bloodshot and Bucqueroux Ranch.  Also thanks to Jamie DePolo (T&T lifetime
board member) for her diligent work on the website throughout the
year.  For folks in the area, we will be dropping off printed lists (with a
"Best of the Rest" and great reissues from '01 section on the back) at
Elderly Instruments and Flat, Black and Circular next week.
