I am Mohawk from Kahnawake located in the province of Quebec. The reserve is on the shore of the St. Lawrence seaway, about 5 miles south of Montreal. My father was born in Kahnawake in the late 30's and moved away with his parents in the 40's to Detroit, Michigan. I was born and raised in Detroit myself.
