Nas
Illmatic
Nas
Illmatic marks the debut of New York Street poet Nas. We also see the first (of many) aliases for the rapper, known as Nasty Nas. Nas brings out the rawest form of hip-hop in this east coast effort, as he tries desperately to establish himself as witty street rapper. Nas while a solid rapper (as we will find out in albums to come) fails in illmatic, badly! This album, which is pitifully small, holds absolutely no hits. “Life’s a Bitch" is great song but not a hit by a long shot. Nas does not blow anyone away with his rapping skill either, he tries to hard and it just comes off as average to slightly below average skill. In other words “reg”....Continue

Illmatic
Nas
It is clear that most people who have read Sloppy Joe's review of this album, have taken the entire staff of 10rc to be fools. I just want to remind all that our reviews are our own personal opinions we each have no control over what the other say. That being said I would like to whole heartily agree with many of the statements that you have written in with about this album. Strait up this is one of the best albums ever put to wax.....Continue

This is however more funny and trivial than a detraction....Continue

It Was Written
Nas
As a general rule, I fucking hate Nas. I find his 'brilliant' lyrics to be overrated. I find his rapping devoid of a sound that I like. I really don't see why Nas is such a revered rapper. I think a lot of his lyrics are contrived and clumsy. Nonetheless, the 10rd review bandwagon must go on so in I popped It Was Written.....Continue
Nastradamas
Nas
Nastradamas is Nas's fourth album, and he has changed quite a bit since his first effort way back in 1994. Nas has been a leader in East coast rap since the beginnings of raps accent into the mainstream. While Nas was a leader of Hip Hop accent to the mainstream, he also has changed over time to fit better in with the mainstream. Nastradamas is a strange mixture of old and new Nas....Continue
