The Human Resources web site suggests that you "use general job descriptions to your advantage by cross-training and expanding your base knowledge with new projects."
Human Resource Development maintains a list
of institutions and programs approved for employee reimbursement
through the Educational Assistance Program. Call 355-0183 for more
information.
The Employment Office in
Human Resources Services has
representatives available to discuss career-related topics such as
common MSU career paths, job openings, developmental resources,
skills assessments, and job search skills. They will also discuss
your interviewing skills and provide pointers. Call Karna Brandt or

The Computerized Human Resources’
Information Service (CHRIS) offers information about postings
and the ability to apply for jobs over the phone (limit two per

Building. CDC provides the following services to the MSU
community:

Visit the Career Development Center to browse the Resource
Library or meet with an advisor to develop a job search plan.
The Gerri Olsen Educational
Lottery Loan is a CTU program that provides loans to CTs until
they receive tuition reimbursement from MSU for successfully
completed classes. The lottery is scheduled to coincide with Lansing
Community College’s registration since so many of our members take
classes there. However, funds can be used at other institutions.

Your Union Representative:
Some departments are reluctant to follow the contract when it comes
to educational assistance, released time or procedures for filling
vacancies. Contact your UR or a Contract Administrator at the CTU
office (355-1903) if you have problems exercising any of your
contractual rights.
