The CTU recently discovered a
two-page, single-spaced memo attached to a member’s evaluation
on file with Human Resources (HR). The evaluation, known as the
Performance Development Program or PDP, reported that the CT had
met and exceeded expectations. The attached memo, how- ever, was
extremely critical of the employee’s performance.
We know of another department
that created its own formal looking attachments for the PDP.
HR has allowed attachments to
the PDP for several years, the CTU recently learned.
In the near future, we will
meet with management in a special conference to discuss
attachments and other evaluation issues.
In the meantime, it is very
important that CTs know what is in their files, especially those
who are considering a job move.
