CTU is currently assisting members at various steps in the grievance process in some of the following areas:

Disability accommodation
Disparate treatment
Suspension over internet use
Reclassification decision
Placement after a disability leave
Longevity calculation/roll-in
Effective date of reclassification
Unreasonable vacation denial
Automatic doctor slip requirement
Denial of sick leave
Termination
Non-payment of overtime

After careful analysis of all the facts, there are many issues that are actually resolved *before* they become a grievance.  The process of resolving matters takes commitment on the part of the CT employee, the department/university, and the CTU Contract Administrator.  Some grievances are resolved at various steps in the process and others go to the arbitration level where an objective third party hears both sides and renders a binding decision.

When in doubt about anything, please contact your union rep, or the CTU office as soon as possible.
