The Communications and Computer Systems Advisory Committee (CCSAC) served two purposes: To advise David Gift, Vice Provost for Libraries, Computing and Technology, about University constituent needs relative to technology and to share information within the University community regarding technology-related initiatives, issues, and strategies. CCSAC also served to support annual, coordinated planning activities within colleges and the University for strategic uses of Teaching and Learning Environment (TLE) funds. The committee consisted of representatives from MSU colleges and units, directors of Libraries, Computing and Technology's units, and chairs of the CCSAC constituent committees. CCSAC committees included Accommodating Technology (ATC), Broadband (BC), Computers in Writing (CIWC), Health Care Computing and Technology (HCCTC), Network Communication (NCC), and Service Outreach Technology (SOTC). LCT's units included Academic Computing and Network Services (ACNS), Administrative Information Systems (AIS), Broadcasting Services, Client Advocacy Office (CAO), Enterprise Business Systems Projects (EBSP), Instructional Media Center (IMC), MSU Libraries, University Archives and Historical Collections (UAHC), and Virtual University Design and Technology (vuDAT).
This site is left in place to maintain historically related information of the CCSAC Committees.
CAFEs replace CCSAC 2007
Communications and Computer Systems Advisory Committees, known as CCSAC, will now be referred to as "Communities for Advising, Facilitating, and Enabling (CAFEs)." These communities are intended to address the growing desire for effective cross-University communications and community that CCSAC committees were not as effective in addressing. http://lct.msu.edu/cafes/index.html
