Colloquium with Your College

As part of the Fall Welcome, all No-Preference/Exploratory freshmen MUST attend one of these Undergraduate University Division sessions according to their assigned Student Academic Affairs office. Incoming freshmen will learn more about activities in the No-Preference option, and have a chance to talk in small groups with advisers and faculty about expectations and strategies for success. Locations will be listed in the Fall Welcome Schedule of Events.

Marathon of Majors

Twice each year--in November and in March--UUD hosts the Marathon of Majors, where academic advisers from all MSU colleges and other academic support offices are available to answer questions. Held in Bessey Hall, this event is a great opportunity for students to gather information, meet College advisers, and learn about potential majors. Marathon of Majors

No-Preference/Exploratory Honors Reception

Held every spring, the UUD takes this formal opportunity to honor academic achievement. No-Preference/Exploratory students who have earned placement on the Dean’s List for the Fall semester are invited to celebrate with UUD staff, faculty, and University administrators.

"PRO 101"

A primary emphasis of the course will be to assist you in identifying the strengths, values, and skills that are the foundation of any decisions you will make about potential majors or careers. Another emphasis of the course will be to help you make the critical transition between high school and college and introduce you to the strategies and habits of becoming a successful student.
