Interests:

Prof. Roper has published articles in Philosophy of Science, Synthese, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Ethics, Florida Philosophical Review, Essays in Philosophy, and many other journals, books, periodicals, and newspapers. He is currently working on a book entitled The Covenant of Democracy. Prof. Roper is a referee for many books and journals and has edited an issue of Essays in Philosophy devoted to business ethics. The founder, director, and coach (1984-2000) of MSU’s National Champion Debate Team and Summer High School Debate Institutes, Prof. Roper regards debate as an integral part of informal logic.
