O.L. Rydland Photographs
In the 1930s, Lansing native Oyvid L. Rydland went to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and took several photographs of the mining operations there. Rydland was a member of the Lansing Camera Club and exhibited a number of his photos in different exhibitions around the country.

Quiet Afternoon. This photograph was exhibited by the following clubs: Photographic Society of San Francisco, Port Stockton Pictorial Society, San Jose Camera Club, Oregon Camera Club, Edinburg Camera Club, Santa Monica Camera Club, and the Golden Empire Camera Club. This photo was also exhibited by the Photographic Society of America for their 1939-1940 season.

Silver Lining. This photograph received an honorary mention by the Lansing Camera Club in 1937.

Glory of Yesteryears. This photograph was exhibited by the following clubs: Nashville Camera Club, Santa Monica Camera Club, Oregon Camera Club, Seattle Photographic Society, Tulsa Camera Club, University of Arkansas Camera Club, Houston Camera Club, Pictorial Camera Club, and the Photographic Society of San Francisco. This photo was also part of the Print interchange of the Photographic Society of America in the 1937-1938 season.

Gables.

Repetition. A light handwritten note on the reverse of this photo reads, "Before the storm Repetition, Gables"

Cornish Pump. A handwritten note on the reverse of this photo reads, "Cornish Pump, Iron Mountain"

Trail's End. The only photograph in Rydland's collection not associated with mining shows a Native American burial ground at the Chi-cau-gon Lake between Crystal Falls and Iron River.
