FACILITIES AND CAPABILITIES   

The Food Processing Center is a recently renovated process facility providing 4,000 square feet of flexible sanitary food processing capability. This facility has been equipped with sanitary floors, drains, walls, and lighting.  Utilities are provided through overhead access and, afford versatile distribution at 14' substations.  Utilities include hot and cold water, 90-psi steam with condensate return, high pressi4re air (100 psi), and natural gas.  These utilities are equipped with quick couple disconnects for flexible hose connections to appropriate equipment.  These utilities are provided in overhead sublocations within the process facility Electrical utilities include overhead access to 440/220 volt (20, 30, and 50 amp service) and 110 volt (20 amp) service.  The processing center is accessed through an overhead ground level garage door providing 0-foot clearance and is accessible through a standard loading dock for truck unloading.  The facility is supported with 2 walk-in coolers and freezers.  A product evaluation laboratory is adjacent to this processing facility and Provides environmental control for computers and product evaluation analytical instruments.  Stainless steel bench space is appropriate for food handling.  Within the processing facility are support lab benches for analysis, chalkboard, and overhead teaching materials.  This facility was established to comply with appropriate good manufacturing practice (GMP) and is equipped with hand washing and other sanitary and safety support.
