Dr. Hunt gave a presentation regarding FY98 APP&R Funding via the 10.4 Million TLE (Teaching, Learning and Education) Fund The following items from the ATC APP&R are 'tenatively' funded as the TLE is still in 'draft' mode, but we can have a reasonable expectation that these items will be funded.
#1 OPHS equipment requested, fully funded as requested $43,300
#2 OPHS campus wide adaptive software, fully funded as requested $4,200 going to Computer Lab for implementation.
#4 Grand Piano/School of Music. Not funded, request apparently was not in the College of Arts and Letters APP&R request.
#3 Library request for CCTV systems, and powered mobility units. Funding should be available for TWO CCTV portable style units, and ONE powered mobility aid.
What about next year?
Dr. Hunt suggested that we look at Ergonomics as well as accessibility. There had been a program for 50/50 matching, between the department and central funding for Ergonomics aids. This program has expired. It is generally expected that the departments will assume the financial responsibility for Ergonomics aids and adaptation.
Dr. Hunt wonders if we can assist on the education side. Possible suggestions included:
o Speakers for brown-bags
o web information
o computer store
Lew Greenberg said that he would be receptive to suggestions for items that should be available via the computer store. (LHG@pilot.msu.edu) Dr. Hunt further wondered: Are we using web technology that is not accommodating, or is not properly accommodating. Are we being silly not to make Tower Guard recordings available via the web.

J.Eulenberg reported that M.Nielsen is going to be on sabbatical over the next year, and will not be able to accept re-appointment to the ATC.
