Rodeo Team Requirements
• Must be an MSU student
• Must be an MSU Rodeo Club member
• Must become a NIRA member
• Must attend MSU Rodeo Club meetings, activities and events
• Must sell advertising for the Spartan Stampede rodeo
*If you are not an MSU student, but attend another Michigan college and would like to college rodeo, please read about becoming an associate member of the MSU Rodeo Club.
MSU Rodeo Team Funding
The MSU Rodeo Club will provide the following for team members meeting the
team requirements to travel to any NIRA Ozark Region rodeo, the National
Championship Series Rodeo and the CNFR qualifying contestants:
• 13 cents per mile for a vehicle without a trailer
• 22 cents per mile for a vehicle with a trailer
• Motel accomodations (separate rooms for males and females)
Associate Membership
Any Michigan college student showing an interest in college rodeo is eligible
for associate membership in the MSU Rodeo Club.
• May attend any MSU Rodeo Club meeting or events
• Intercollegiate rodeo competition is up to the discretion of the
individual's college
• It is up to the individual to make travel arrangements to each college
rodeo
NIRA Requirements
• Each student has 6 years of eligibility from the date of high school
graduation to purchase 4 NIRA (National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association)
membership cards.
• Attend a college or university listed in the current publication
of Accredited Institutions of Post Secondary Education.
• Take at least 12 credit hours (9 academic credits) each term
• Maintain a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) at all times
