Part I: Planning the Writing Project

Agreement and Proposal

Here you will find what a brief description of our Service-Learning Writing Project, working with YouVote. Also, the document shows what is expected of me in my work with the organization, as well deadlines and due dates for YouVote assignments.

Audience Assessment

Knowing your audience is extremely important for your information to be effective.  For our Service- Learning Writing project, Tim O'Malley helped me determine for whom I would actually be writing.  Indeed, having never been engaged in Service-Learning before either, this was clearly a unique opportunity for me to "get a feel" for my quite sizable audience!

Part II: Working on the Writing Project

Fact File

Providing a compilation of facts regarding YouVote, this fact file offers information worth knowing concerning the YouVote website, the 2005 election, and the many issues involved in the election.

Journal Entries

Every time I participated in activities for YouVote, I was asked to recorded how things went in a journal.  My journal entries include times where Tim O'Malley came into class with assignment updates and other YouVote activities such as group assignments.  These journals were a great source to see how things went throughout the semester with YouVote.

Project Updates

Now the semester is halfway over, a project update is to be filled out.  This update includes information about the project and the current assignments we are completing.

Reflections on the SLWP Experience

Study Group Writing Project Evaluation

As I was working with my group for YouVote, we ran into a few problems along the way, but quickly solved them.  Here is my group evaluation.

Agency Evaluation for Service-Learning Writing Project

At the end of the semester, Tim O'Malley will have to fill out a project evaluation for me on my behalf.  This is a blank copy of the form, which highlights what exactly I will be graded upon.
