Part I:
Planning the Writing
Project
Thus far, our YouVote coordinator, Tim O'Malley, has requested my class to provide him with some background information on some local elections. However, throughout the rest of the semester our job is to get our community more involved and expand their knowledge on the upcoming November elections. Here are the full details to my Service-Learning Writing Project . (updates are offered below).
Audience Assessment
Becoming a part of service-learning I never realized the specifications required to target an audience, and because our Service-Learning Writing Project involves voting, our audience was quite larger than what I had expected. With Tim O'Malley's help we were able to narrow down the demographics of our audience.
Part II: Working on the Writing Project
Fact File
The YouVote fact file includes detailed information describing the basics of the YouVote organization. Among other information this document includes, their purpose and mission statement, who the organization serves, similar organizations, an interview with the YouVote coordinator Tim O'Malley, and a recent news article.
Journal Entries
My journals consist of reflections from the assignments, each time we met with YouVote coordinator Tim O'Malley, and when our groups met to work on assignments.
Here is an update of any date changes for our assignments.

Part III: Evaluating the Writing Project
Reflections on the SLWP Experience
In this evaluation we answered questions relating to our understanding of the purpose of the SLWP experience and also comparisons to our past writing classes. Here are my responses to the questions where we were to evaluate individually. We were also supposed to collaborate with our groups to talk about the SLWP experience. Here are my individual responses to the evaluation.
Agency Evaluation for Service-Learning Writing Project
At this link is a "blank" version of the evaluation form my agency contact person, Tim O'Malley, will fill out at the end of the semester. Although the grades will remain confidential until the end of the semester, I can surely say that the assignments went smoothly
