Welcome to the PW Resources Website
This resource site prepared by WRA 202: Introduction to Professional Writing students in Fall 2006.
As professional writers, we have exceptionally varied job descriptions and skill sets. The tools that are useful to one professional writer might not be to another. Therefore, when compiling resources for said audience, a wide variety of topics must be included.
The links to the left will lead you to a sundry of resource pages assembled by professional writers for professional writers. Our WRA 202 class of Fall 2006 received an assignment to individually compile a list of resources for professional writers. We were then asked to compile all of our pages into one comprehensive site for the benefit of the Professional Writing program here at MSU. We worked in two groups to effectively reach our final goal, one group focusing on content and the other on design. The effort was a struggle at times, but we overall had fun working as a group to establish this fine website that will surely help whoever comes across it.
The resource pages provided contain information pertaining to everything from grammar improvement to preparing for the workforce to CSS web development to color psychology. You may be thinking, “Why can’t I just look these sites up myself?” Well, we’ve done it for you, and much of the value of these resources lies in our unique compilation of the most useful resources available on the web for each respective topic. In addition, we thoroughly annotated these resources, so all YOU need to do is read our descriptions to find out which of our resources will be most useful to you.
So, if you ever find yourself wishing you had easy access to a plethora of information about, say, Microsoft Word techniques, or maybe how to write a report using APA style, remember that now you DO! We hope that many people will find our resources of use, and students, professors, and others who happen upon our site will benefit from them.
