Prior to joining the teaching faculty at Michigan State University, Sherby taught at and/or coordinated at the University of Michigan-Flint, Davenport College, and Lansing Community College. Sherby won a Distinguished Faculty Award from Davenport College in 1991.
Sherby has worked as both a writer and editor, and has written articles for Lansing Magazine, The Towne Courier, The Citizen Lobbyist, and other publications.
Sherby has presented at several professional conferences, including the Michigan Women’s Studies Association Conference, Writing Across the Curriculum Conversations, and the National Association of Women’s Studies Conference.
