Blockhouse Project

Founded in July of 1999, the Friends of Muskegon State Park organization was created to promote Muskegon State Park’s recreational offerings and ongoing commitment to resource conservation. Our goal is to enhance the park’s amenities so that visitors can continue to enjoy their park experience.

With the assistance of volunteers, Friends of Muskegon State Park plans to host periodic events designed to increase public awareness of the park’s unique natural features and the future challenges faced by the park. This will provide Friends of Muskegon State Park the opportunity to share their goals and to discuss action plans for achieving goals.

Our projects will include trail restoration, park wide cleanups and projects decided by suggestion and necessity. The current focus is on restoring the Blockhouse.
