Background
Born in a small coastal town in Oregon (North Bend), I graduated
from North Bend High School in 1982. After dropping out of a number
of colleges for various reasons, working at Sea World of San Diego, a radio
disc jockey at numerous stations (KZEL Eugene, OR, WYBT/WPHK Blountstown,
FL, KOWB/KCGY Laramie, WY, and KJUN Fife, WA), I finished my B.S. in 1992
from Southern Illinois University -- Carbondale. I finished my M.S.
at Portland State University in 1994, and my Ph.D. in 1998 from Louisiana
State University.
