Lauren Olson joined the Skunkworks Lab in 2006. Her general research interests are in the area of decision making that promotes sustainability in agriculture and the environment. Her research towards a Master's Degree is in the area of campus sustainability initiatives with a focus on recycling programs at Michigan State University.

Her current research, which involves focus groups, interviews, and mental models analysis with key stakeholders on the MSU campus, is aimed at informing the design of a new campus-wide recycling facility. Previously, Lauren has studied sustainable endowments at MSU, sweatshop labor in the apparel industry, and student purchasing behavior. Upon completion of her degree in the summer of 2008, she would like to pursue a career in research, small enterprise, or continue in the academy toward a doctorial degree. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to electronic music, DJ’ing on student radio, and taking care of plants.
