Pi Kappa Gamma is the honor society for the School of Packaging at Michigan State University. Packaging students who maintain a 3.0 overall grade point average can become members during their Sophomore, Junior or Senior years.

Meetings are held every other Tuesday at 6:00pm in room 100 of the Packaging Building during Fall and Spring semesters. Our first meeting this semester is September 9th in room 100 of the Packaging Building.

Community Service Opportunities:

Blood Drives
Can donate blood for one service point per semester.  Go to http://www.redcrossmichigan.org/MichiganBloodDrives.asp?ID=16 to find blood drives in the East Lansing area.  After donating blood bring a sheet to the next meeting verifying you donated blood.

American Red Cross Food Bank
Fridayss from 1pm-3pm
Going to the American Red Cross food bank in Lansing and sort donated food.
Meet this Friday, September 12th in the reading room of the packaging building at 12:40pm.

East Lansing clean up
Sunday September 21st, at 10:30am
Participate in cleaning up an East Lansing neighborhood by picking up trash and party litter. Participants will be given gloves and trash bags, as well as provided with juice and donuts before the event begins.

Dino Dash 5K run
Sunday October 5th, at 10am
A 5K run / walk to benefit Michigan State University Museum educational programs.  Race begins at 10 am in front of the MSU museum on west circle. Participants can register online at http://museum.msu.edu/Events/DinosaurDash/ or on the day of the race (from 8:30am-9:30am).

Burcham Hills Retirement community
Monday’s from 6pm-8pm
Going to the Burcham Hills Retirement community, helping, spending time socializing, playing card games and visiting with senior citizens.

Apple Harvest
Thursday September 25th, at 9am
Help harvest, box, and load surplus apples at a local farm. The food will be delivered by Project staff to low income households at University Apartments, MSU Student Food Bank, and other locations in the Greater Lansing Area.

**IMPORTANT: The first community service event needs to be done by 10/7, the second by 11/18 and the third by 12/2.  If you have any questions regarding this policy feel free to stop by our office hours listed below.
