Mike Mill showed how to make several simple deadfall traps that can help collect food in a survival situation. Mike said he would sometimes set several inside their teepee at night to keep the mice from making too much noise. Right Mike demonstrates how to construct a Paiute deadfall which consists of four twigs and a short piece of cordage. The Paiutes would set hundreds of these to catch prairie dogs for soup.
Note: deadfalls are illegal to take animals with in Michigan. No animals were harmed in the deadfall demonstration.
