John Hribljan did a real nice workshop on constructing small containers from birch bark using soaked spruce root to lace the containers together.

He showed us several examples of his fine birch bark construction technique that produced such useful items as an arrow quiver and a water bucket. John also helped construct a birch teepee along with Dan Cote and Mike Miller.
