These snow goggles are a replica of one of many diverse styles of Eskimo snow goggles

collected from the Bering Strait region for the Smithsonian Institution by Edward William Nelson between 1877 and 1881.

Hand crafted in moose antler, the narrow eye slits cut down on glare without hampering vision to effectively prevent snow blindness (sunburned eyeballs).

There are two holes on each side of the goggles for attaching cords.
