Trek 2006
A group of 10 students participated in the first ever, Ecology of the Mountains,
Study Abroad Program in India in May 2006. Dr. John Schwartz and Mary and Harry
Andrews served as Faculty. Manoj Mehre, of Mukteswar organized the trek with
the help of a five-member crew. We spe
nt
two days getting acclimatized to the
mountain terrain by taking day hikes and climbing the cliffs near Mukteswar.
The
group started off that first morning in a mist from the low hanging clouds.
The weather was warm by day, but cool or even cold at night!
