Team!

We are part of the clean up project, Adopt-a-Beach, started by the Alliance for the Great Lakes in Chicago, IL.

As a team of caring scientists and nature lovers, we spend a few afternoons each year to clean up our home in the Great Lakes system, Lake Erie Metro Park beach. 

We should be very proud because we are the first team to be participating in Southeastern Michigan, and one of only a few teams to work on the shoreline of Lake Erie.

Our first trip to the beach was a beautiful day, and a great surprise!
We didn't expect to find as much trash as we did.  In addition to collecting the trash off the shoreline, we collect the data and send it to the Alliance association so they may use it to write and pass laws protecting our shorelines against littering.
