The Center for Oilseed Sociology

The Center for Oilseed Sociology (COS) is a multidimensional, multidisciplinary, multisyllabic, continuous process, partially hydrogenated research center centrally located on the fourth floor of Berkey Hall at Michigan State University just across the street from the Expresso Royal Caffé. Center staff can be found at the café when not hard at work on slippery problems of oilseed sociology. (Visitors are provided with special shoes to help prevent falls on the premises.) Indeed, it is fair to say that no other center of this type enjoys such renown and fame. Visitors from around the world visit the center regularly (usually because they cannot find the football stadium). Center staff and affiliates can be found scattered around the world greasing the wheels of progress. Current astounding Center staff include:

Lawrence Busch, Director of Oilseed Studies

Arunas Juska, Associate Director for Statistics*

Gerad Middendorf, Associate Director for Latin American Research

Elizabeth Ransom, Associate Director for Biotechnology

Michael Skladany, Associate Director for Underwater Oilseeds

Ivan Sergio Friere de Sousa, Research Director, EMBRAPA**

Keiko Tanaka, Associate Director, China Rapeseed Division

Michael Tresca, Central Office Manager

*Now at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

**Currently on assignment in Brazil.
