Jim Smith

James J. (Jim) Smith is an Associate Professor of Biology in the Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University, where he teaches Introductory Biology courses and leads seminar courses on genetic, evolutionary and environmental issues. He is jointly appointed in the MSU Departments of Entomology and Zoology, where he and his students conduct research on the evolutionary relationships of Rhagoletis fruit flies and the invasion genetics of the Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire).
