1. What are the rooms and atmosphere like?
Journey House has 6 rooms for rent on the 2nd floor of our beautiful
historic home. Each room is to house 2 roommates for a total of 12 student
residents. Residents share the first floor kitchen, dining room, living
room, basement, laundry room, and spacious 3rd floor rec room.
2. What is included with rent?
Lots!
Nearly every room includes a private half bath and closet space for
each resident.
All rooms are fully furnished.
The prices of rent includes all utilities expect for optional phone
service. This includes:
• Laundry facilities
• Parking
• High-speed internet
• Cable
• Rec Room: DVD & VCR
• Kitchen fully stocked with cooking and dining ware
Residents purchase their own groceries and share common kitchen space.
Spontaneous group dinners have been known to happen…
School Year 2008-2009: $425 per month
Summer Leases: $315 per month
4. What’s the general age range of residents living in Journey
House?
Students normally range in age from 18 – 26. We house both men
& women.
5. What are the rules?
Journey
House property and building is a substance-free environment: meaning
it is free of alcohol, tobacco and drug use. Residents are asked to
adhere to a “Covenant Contract”. This means that we all
agree to a few basic rules of courtesy that help to make everyone
comfortable and to uphold some community-living ideals. The rules
aren’t much different from standard dorm policies. Residents
are welcome to have visitors and there is no resident curfew.
6. Do you have to go to MSU
to live at Journey House?
Nope.
We welcome persons of all faith backgrounds to join in a community of
friendship, support and healthy-living lifestyles.

What’s the current availability?
We
currently have vacancies for the Fall/Spring semesters and Summer
semester. This can change, so please contact us (link) for more info.
Candidates are considered through an interview process.
Rent is $425 per month for Fall/Spring semesters & $315 per month
Summer semesters.
9. Journey
House holds worship services every Sunday night followed by a meal.
Do I have to attend the worships in order to live there?
Residents are always welcome, but not required to attend Sunday
Night Services. The services are a great way to get to know other
students and the people who support us. During the school year we also
have a free dinner at 7:00pm after worship.
Can’t beat a FREE home-cooked meal!
