Ron Fox - National Superconducting Cyclotron
NSCL Duties:
My name is Ron Fox, I'm a senior physicist at the National
Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at Michigan
State University (NSCL). My main focus at NSCL is to develop and support
data acquisition systems for both the laboratory as a whole and for specific
experiments with special requirements.
Interests:

Computing - as you might expect from my job. I'm interested primarily in
the development and deployment of soft-real-time applications. I'm also
interested in on-line documentation systems, and I'm in the process of
deploying one as I build up documentation for my current project, the S800

I'm a musician of sorts. I play the 'cello. I used to do this semi-professionally,
but now I only do it for my own enjoyment.

I run, for myself, and a few 5-8Km races. NSCL has a fine tradition of
runners as workers. Starting with our original Director, Henry G. Blosser,
and continuing with Al Zeller, who is one of our ultra-marathoners.

Finally, I practice Kendo which is the Japanese martial art of Kendo. Kendo
is Japanese fencing. I've helped to create the All United States Kendo
