MAJOR AND MINOR IN JAPANESE

I. TYPES OF JAPANESE MAJOR AND MINOR

At MSU, students can major in East Asian Languages and Culture with concentration in Japanese, to be referred to below as "Japanese major" for convenience.

A student may choose Japanese as a Primary Major (single major) or as an Additional Major (to add to his/her primary major). The latter requires fewer courses than does a primary major. A student may also have a Double DEGREE, i.e. two primary majors in different fields.

For advising, please e-mail Heidi Spence <hspence@cal.msu.edu> (Dept. Advisor) and make an appointment.

A student in the School of Eudcation may have a Teaching Major or Teaching Minor in Japanese. See also "Undergraduate Programs and Teacher Certification" and "Additional Certificate Endorsements".
