Please Help Us!
As I am sure you would believe this place sounds amazing. I pictured computer labs, a gym, and a place for refugees to go and just hangout. I couldn’t wait to go and see this place, however when I got there for the first time I was stunned! The Refugee Development Center is the second floor of a small church in Downtown Lansing. It has a few computers and a few rooms with chairs. Don’t get me wrong, the impact this place has on so many refugees is unbelievable. They help refugees how to drive, how to use computers, and also help them getting jobs. The center is like a tool to these refugees, and the result from using this tool is becoming a productive citizen in the United States. The people there work so hard to help these people. Many of the people you would meet working there are volunteers just wanting to help out. Well now that I have been there I want to help out. I plan on making more visits to the center and possible donating what a poor college student can to the center. I hope from me explaining my experiences to you, you will want to help out too. The center can always use more voulenteer help. And if you are currently too busy they welcome donations of any form.
