The Honor Code:
Mission:
The purpose of the Honor Code is to formalize the ethical standards and values of the Eli Broad College of Business. Honesty and integrity are defined as being free from deception, and adhering to a code of values. All members of this institution, including faculty, staff, administration, and students are expected to act accordingly and uphold one another to these standards. This protects integrity and values of a Broad College degree. Likewise, it prevents the dishonest from damaging the integrity of this institution. Students are here to receive a quality education and prepare them to be leaders in the business world.

Members of the Eli Broad College of Business are of high ethical standards. We strive to continually strengthen the integrity the College and its members.By reinforcing the importance of the values of honesty and integrity, we aim to prepare students for what they will face in a real-world environment. Persons involved within Eli Broad College of Business are held to be responsible individuals with standing principles that a premised upon Honesty and Integrity among other things. Further, all members of the College adhere to the following code and apply it to any involvement that they may have with Eli Broad College.

By continually reinforcing the importance of practicing ethics of the highest caliber, Broad students will continue to be leaders and role models in the business world. The pride and tradition of the Eli Broad College of Business can be further enhanced by collectively committing ourselves to the highest ethical standards and working as a community to ensure the continuing integrity of this institution.
The Broad Picnic:
We the Student Senate, representative body of the undergraduate students of the Eli Broad College of Business, would like to propose a beneficial social event. This extravaganza will involve all student organizations, faculty, and staff who respectfully represent the undergraduate and graduate levels of the elite Eli Broad College of Business.

The anticipated date and time for the event is Thursday, April 21st between the hours of 12 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. We encourage the participation of all organizations and faculty that are involved in supporting the enrichment and escalation of business oriented education at Michigan State.

The Picnic’s objective is to increase the awareness of the Honor Code that will be inducted into the Business College’s Grievance Council procedures by the fall of 2005. This Code will be affecting all Business College students and teachers’ curriculum. We are asking those who represent our institution to not only help financially but also to participate in the event. We would like to treat this not only as a celebratory induction of the Honor Code but also similar to that of the “Student Organization Fair”/ “Party at the Aud.” We hope to attract students of various backgrounds and majors but we will only focus our advertising at attracting Business College students.
