Osage Handled Knife

The blade was made from a piece of central Texas chert, and it is not a replica.  The handle is special because it was made from a piece of osage that is around 80 years old.  It was standing dead wood for about 60 years.  On the outside the wood looks like driftwood, but on the inside it is beautiful.  I kept some of the weathered wood on the handle, and it can be seen in the black colored areas.  In the upper picture, look for the dragon in the handle.  There is a knot in the upper middle part of the handle that represents the eye of the dragon.

Total Length: 20.6 cm (8.11 in).
Blade Length: 10.27 cm (4.04 in); Blade Width: 3.49 cm (1.37 in); Blade Thickness: 0.66 cm (0.26 in).
Handle Length: 10.33 cm (4.07 in); Handle Width (Middle): 4.21 cm (1.66 in); Handle Thickness: 2.59 cm (1.02 in).
