Hopewell Points


This hopewell point was made from a piece of raw (not heat-treated) flint from Georgetown, Texas.  The lighter colored stone was from near the outside part of the nodule and the darker stone was from the inside part of the nodule.
Length: 14.0 cm (5.51 in); Width: 7.76 cm (3.06 in); Thickness: 0.85 cm (0.33 in).

 
 
 
This hopewell point is made from a piece of heat-treated Novaculite from Magnet Cove, Arkansas.  The red and pink spots are from iron inclusions.
Length: 12.5 cm (4.92 in); Width: 7.13 cm (2.81 in); Thickness: 0.80 cm (0.31 in).
