Danish Flint Knife

This knife is one of my favorite pieces, eventhough it is not a replica.  When I hold the knife, the handle is very comfortable and the knife has good balance.  I designed this to be a skinning knife.  The blade was made from a piece of raw (not heat-treated) Danish flint.  If you look closely at the picture, you will see that this piece of flint comtains many fossil (i.e. the black spots, the bluish-gray areas and the white spots).  Some of these fossils created problems (step fractures usually) when I knapped the flint.  The handle was made from the third  tine on the palm portion of a moose antler.
Total Length: 22.5 cm (8.86 in).
Blade Length: 10.68 cm (4.20 in); Blade Width: 4.89 cm (1.93 in); Blade Thickness: 0.82 cm (0.32 in).
Handle Length: 11.3 cm (4.45 in); Handle Width (Middle): 2.3 cm (0.91 in); Handle Thickness: 2.15 cm (0.85 in).
