Oraganochlorines and Sex Steroids in two Michigan cohorts (OSSM)

The OSSM study is longitudinal study examining possible effects of sport-caught fish consumption on health. Female offspring from the Michigan Fisheaters Family Health Study are being studied to discover if environmental chemicals found in fish are linked to the genes that make reproductive hormones and/or body composition. It is hypothesized that exposure to pesticides found in sport-caught fish may increase fertility and body fatness in women. This study is sponsored by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.
