1. Bicyclism is the political philosophy that recognizes the needs of those who use, need or depend on bicycles and bicycle technology for transport and living (as well as to our greater global benefit). 2. The urban bicyclist must be bold in hir maneuvers on the street surface in order to communicate to other street denizens that we -are- traffic. 3. Since bicycles are the most qualified urban transport vehicles, and pedestrians are generally plentiful, cities need to evolve into a slower, closer people-centered orientation. It is only though the cultivation of pedestrianist consciousness that bicyclism will become a viable transportation orientation. 4. Without such an orientation our cities are lost to pollution, a degrading existence and an inhuman sphere of living for all habitants and exurban visitors (commuters>. 5. Since institutions are moving too slowly to effectively deal with urban infrastructure decay and city rot, it is clearly left up to individuals and groups to effect the changes necessary --physical, mental and social-- that focus on improving rational and realistic routes, methods and plans for public bicyclism (and pedestrianism) to occur. 6. This is already occurring. Everyday individuals are disposing of auto dominated lifeways for bicycle inspired paradigms. Amaturengineers can take the opportunity to reshape urbanways toward local bicyclatravel and pedtravel. 7. Bicyclists must uphold respect for thine bicycle-self, and through that, respect for all other selves encountered on the path, be they wheeled or pedstyle. Be sure to defer right-of-way to the lowerspeed self. 8. Bicyclists have the unique opportunity to actually see a Bicyclist Version of a city glowing from beneath the current city shell. We can help others see this lospeed world by indicating psychogeographic landmarks used by lospeed travelers, and by actually being lospeed in any traffick situation. The conscious redesignation of urban artifacts (such as street signs, road markings) to signal ease of travel and current bicyclist activity is needed. Re-creation of urban space along a non-traffic oriented vision is an effective manner of redirection toward health of the urban body. 9. Bicyclists create travel corridors in the urban and exurban landscape through the consistent use of human powered transpiration modes. The best routes through the current urban transportation matrix can be accomplished through scouting, urban modification, and frequency of travel. The unimpeded lospeed transport of self through the urban sphere is a necessary characteristic of a bicyclist vision. 10. Importantly: recognize other wheeled beings as friends, strength, warmth, and unity. This will increase mutual consciousness, cooperative riding tactics and iandi recognition, and will prepare the way for group riding habits, safety-in-numbers, and general road-strength.
