
ChiLA (Chicano/Latino Association) is a Michigan State University based civil rights organization for all Latinos (Chicanos, Cubanos, Puertorriquenos, Centro Y Sur Americanos). The organization includes all faculty, staff and graduate students. Both on and off campus, the organization is commited to speaking out on their behalf and to working with Michigan State University to find solutions to problems that prevent Latinos from being a visible and viable part of the university.
ChiLA is dedicated to maintaining an oversight posture
in the areas of student enrollment, staff employment, outreach into the
Latino community and research relevent to the experience and condition
of Latinos, to ensure that the Latino community are equitably represented
in all aspects of university life and that Michigan State University provides
an outreach approach that includes Latinos.
