Movie Love

The Beginning and the End

It all started because of my mother.  What a wonderful woman.  She introduced me to my love of movies.  I like them all.  I like war movies, I like cartoon movies, I like movies that are long, I like old movies, I like short movies, I enjoy what has been traditionally known as a ladies' type sob story.  I like them all.  Well, that's not true.  I do not like movies that have certain androgynous male actors in in it.  I prefer a good plot and plot development to the modern filmmakers use of choppy fast action crap to keep the attention of what I and many others term the "MTV Generation."

So my Mom, the greatest movie connoisseur I know, instilled in me a desire to watch most every movie in the world.  She has led the charge in our family to buy movies.  She has bought a library's worth of movies.  I love Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne.  I think that most people do not value them as great actors.  Too bad, I think they are missing out.  I think my Mom would agree with that statement.  She loves old flicks.  The older, the better.  I love "Captains Courageous", "How Green is my Valley", "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon", "Tora, Tora, Tora", "The Dirty Dozen", "Victory", "Mrs. Miniver", "Sgt. York", "Hunt for Red October", "Clear and Present Danger", and even "Little Women"......not really.  I just wanted to throw that out to see if you were paying attention.

I look to my mother to send the index's of our movies via email to me so that i can let you all browse through them.  Until then, visit again so I have a reason to develop more reasons why movies are good.

Here is the long awaited Mom's Movies List.
