I'm an Assistant Professor Research in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders at Michigan State University.
My research is on speech perception and production in different languages, including English, Spanish, and Mandarin. I have projects on phonemic categorization, word recognition, and phonetic neighborhood density in these languages. I'm also interested in sociophonetics and bilingualism.
I received my Ph.D. in linguistics in 1998 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, my dissertation entitled Evidence for phonological categories from speech perception. I received my B.S.E.E. and B.A. in 1992 from the University of Texas at Austin.
