1930s Plaster Radio Lamp

Radio Lamp

These radio lamps were inexpensive and popular in the 1930s.  They're made of plaster or cast metal and usually have a glass globe shade.  This lamp was designed without one, as you can see in the photo.  It's lit with a red bulb which shines through holes in the coal fire.  The lamp also casts a red glow on the wall behind it.  Most of these lamps were painted with the copper-bronze finish as this one has.
